Darra Gordon leads Family Equality, the national LGBTQ+ family advocacy group based in New York. She joined in 2025 after more than 20 years in nonprofit leadership, including senior roles at GLAAD and more than 15 years at the Hetrick-Martin Institute. She spoke at the group's 2026 Night at the Pier gala in New York, which raised about $1.1 million.
