Carolina Alcoser Ramos (she/her) has championed LGBTQ+ people and their families in San Diego for more than three decades. She began volunteering at The San Diego LGBT Community Center in 1990, has been on its staff for more than 20 years, and helped build its Latin@x Services. When she came out as a lesbian mom and was threatened with losing her son, she and other lesbian parents started Moms and Me, later Moms and Me & Dads Too, and she went on to advocate in schools for kids with queer parents. She founded Mi Familia, The Center’s Spanish-language support group for parents and families of LGBTQ+ people, and was named to The Center’s 2026 Community Wall of Honor.
