Connor Ryan-Lim (he/him) is co-owner and head coach of The Experience Fitness & Mobility Studio in Hillcrest, which calls itself the only openly LGBTQ+, queer-spouse-owned gym in the neighborhood. A former nurse who worked in emergency, family medicine and oncology, he moved to San Diego in 2016 and opened The Experience in 2019 with his spouse, Coach Angeli, after years of seeing corporate gyms leave trans and nonbinary members without support. He believes fitness is gender-affirming care and has built a gym where the LGBTQ community can find a home in fitness.
