Henri David is a Center City jeweler, known as Philadelphia's Mister Halloween, whose Pine Street shop is named Halloween. He first performed in drag in 1967 and started his Halloween ball in 1968 at the Hotel Philadelphia, when about 300 people came. The ball grew to thousands of guests in the 1980s, and its 57th edition took place at the Kimmel Center on Halloween 2025.
