Julie Mabry owns Pearl, Houston's lesbian bar, which she has run alongside its sister sports bar Side Peace. In 2026 she moved Pearl from 4216 to a much larger space at 2811 Washington Avenue with a dance floor, garden, lawn stage and pickleball court. She has said the venue remains a lesbian bar that welcomes the wider LGBTQ+ community and allies.
