Join us onboard the Sexy Walrus for two drift dives on the reefs off Boynton Beach, where the Gulf Stream runs close to shore and brings clear blue water and plenty of marine life. Turtles, moray eels, nurse sharks, and big schools of reef fish are common sightings. On a drift dive, the boat drops us in the water and we let the current carry us along the reef while the captain follows our surface marker buoy. Depths typically range from 70-90 feet. Requirements Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification or higher. Bring your certification card, or have the digital version on your phone. A DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoy) with a reel or spool for every diver. You’ll inflate it at the end of each dive so the boat can see where you’ll surface. If you don’t own one, you can usually rent one from Ocean’s Eight. Ask when you book. You should be comfortable descending without a line, diving in current, and deploying your DSMB during your safety stop. How to book Reservations are made directly with Ocean’s Eight, not through Out Scuba. Call 561-448-4142 or book online at Boynton Beach Scuba Diving Trips | Reef & Wreck Dives and click Book a Dive. Either way, be sure you mention you’re with the Out Scuba group. Cost is $100 per person. Gear rental is available for an additional fee; be certain you arrange with the shop for everything that you need. Please let us know you’ve booked by emailing the trip organizer so we can plan for the group. What to bring Your dive gear or arrange rentals when booking. Also bring your C-card, DSMB, a towel, sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), water, snacks, and seasickness medication if you need it. Take seasickness medication before you leave home, not on the boat. For those coming from Fort Lauderdale and points South, carpool options are available! This is an unguided, self-directed dive. Out Scuba does not provide dive guide services, and no divemaster or guide will be leading you underwater. As stated in our waiver, each diver is solely responsible for planning and executing their own dive — this includes monitoring your own air, depth, time, and navigation, and staying within your certification level and training. You are required to dive with a buddy at all times and to remain responsible for your own safety and equipment throughout the activity. Please make sure you and your buddy have a clear dive plan before entering the water and understand each other's dive signals. Book your Spot!
