We are meeting at Phil Foster Park to explore the world-famous Blue Heron Bridge dive site for a one-tank shore dive. BHB is ideal for both beginner and experienced divers. If you have a camera, bring it along. Blue Heron Bridge is well known for its diverse marine life, accessibility and shallow calm waters. Commonly seen at the bridge are seahorses, octopus, eels and sea robins, along with all of the colorful reef fish you would hope for. This is a great opportunity for our newer divers to gain some in-water experience, and absolute heaven for photographers. Please arrive no later than 5:15 pm (earlier is suggested) and be prepared to splash at 6 pm. We will meet in the parking lot area adjacent to the overpass. (Parking at Phil Foster/Blue Heron Bridge is notoriously limited. You must arrange for a parking permit to be picked up at Force-E.) In addition to normal dive gear, each diver will need to have a main light, a backup light, and a tank light. There is no dive shop on site and you must supply your own gear. This is an unguided, self-directed dive. Out Scuba does not provide dive guide services, and no divemaster or guide will be leading you underwater. As stated in our waiver, each diver is solely responsible for planning and executing their own dive — this includes monitoring your own air, depth, time, and navigation, and staying within your certification level and training. You are required to dive with a buddy at all times and to remain responsible for your own safety and equipment throughout the activity. Please make sure you and your buddy have a clear dive plan before entering the water and understand each other's dive signals.
