Sweet Equinox

Celebrate the coming of warmer weather with this cozy show highlighting queer talent! Sweet Equinox is bringing omnichords, autoharps, and other stunning solo sets to Enabling Arts to ring in the spring. Bring tender hearts and budding souls. Featuring Stanza Lune, Oceaan Pendharkar, AutoHeartVan, and Rae Phoenix. To ensure safety for our community, masks are mandatory for this event.

Stanza Lune is a synthy, sapphic, survivor songster making tunes for the moon, based just outside what is colonially known as Vancouver, BC. They've been everywhere from Vancouver Pride and the Vancouver Fringe Festival to collaborating with indie darlings such as Penelope Scott and The Bookish Songs Collective. They owe inspiration to childhood obsessions with Rebecca Sugar and Anamanaguchi, and current obsessions with The Scary Jokes and Hemlocke Springs, all of which shine through in their unique melodies, poetic lyricism, and their twinkly, self-produced sound. They’re also a neurodivergent nonbinary lesbian, which greatly affects their creative process.

Rae Phoenix is a disabled antidisciplinary artist based on the unceded, ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Beyond their arts practice, Rae can be found watching gay films, giving gender affirming haircuts and simping for small dogs.

Oceaan Pendharkar (they/them) is a musician who makes intimate alt-pop about love, identity, and self-discovery. With sounds reminiscent of Kimbra and Lucy Dacus, their emotionally resonant performances combine lush layered vocals, live electronic arranging, and infectious guitar hooks. Oceaan has played keys with artists like Tonye Aganaba, Kimmortal, and Ashleigh ball, and wrote, produced, and performed in the band Glow Motive with Anjalica Solomon, releasing their debut EP in 2023. Oceaan lives on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səlilwətaɬ) Nations (aka Vancouver).

Performing on the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Uxkimaxw and Tsleil-Watuth nations (East Van) since 2010, AutoHeartVan (they/he) is a caped baritone who tickles your heart strings along with a number of instruments. Playing a combination of multilingual original songs, AHV mixes in covers to tell compelling stories about neat little animal species, eco-grief, queer history and dad jokes.
