Ready to take your skills to the next level? Have you completed our beginner series (or equivalent) and want to take a deeper dive into building ties with more structure? Are you unable to attend our intermediate classes during the week? If so, this workshop is for you!
This month we will deep dive into the single column, one of the fundamental ties in shibari. Get ready to break down the geometry of this beautiful cuff and how to tie any body part, large or small. Participants will learn how to make sure their single columns are secure and functional and assess important structural elements for comfort and safety. We will also be covering an intermediate level arms free chest harness, a modified version of the Butterfly
You will have plenty of time to practice these concepts in a knowledgeable and supportive environment.
Pre-requisites: all participants must have completed our beginner series or have equivalent tying experience; please check our Beginner curriculum page for more information. Riggers must be able to tie a single column, half hitch, munter hitch and know how to extend rope
What to bring/wear: 2-3 hanks of rope for people tying, if you have some - we will have rope for borrowing or for sale at the studio! Comfortable clothes for the person being tied, closer fitting tops may be easier for the chest harness portion of the workshop.
Do I need a partner for this class? All of the exercises in this class can be done either on a partner or self-tied.
Please arrive on time, as late entry may not be permitted due to the structured nature of the material.
Location: Ember Society, Mission Valley, San Diego. Address given to ticket holders.
