Part of the programming for Waves of Hearts Beating Drums: screening of Sugar Island by director Johanné Gómez Terrero. Waves of Hearts Beating Drums is a solo exhibition by Mariposa Tejada composed of sculptural forms made from clay, recycled wood, plant life, and water, a journey through Afro-Indigenous memory. Funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
