SAN DIEGO Queer Surf Camp Aug 2025 🦭

🏝 What: San Diego Queer Surf Camp, hosted by Queer Surf 💦 A joyful weekend of queer coastal liberation 🐬

🗓 Date: Thursday, Aug 14 @ 4pm - Sunday Aug 17th @ 4pm, 2025

🔻Who: Queer ocean lovers, ocean aligned and ocean curious. Non-binary/trans/women+ centered. All Queer people welcome! No previous ocean experience needed. 150+ attendees total.

📍Location: A private beachfront camp where Imperial Beach and Silver Stand meet in Southern San Diego County. Note: The water quality in front of camp is sometimes impacted by the Tijuana River and we will be accessing clean ocean water to the north in Coronado.

🐠Activities: Beginner surf lessons, snorkeling, skateboarding, eco justice workshops, archery, climbing wall, variety show, swimming, arts+crafts, yoga, dance party, cruising;)
All equipment provided.

🥙Food: Buffet style camp meals served out of the beachfront dining hall lodge. Meals include plant-based and meat entrees and sides, a salad bar (or fruit @ breakfast) and a dessert. Vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten free options are available if indicated. Other dietary needs can be accommodated in advance as well.

🏕Accomodations: Wooden tent cabins. Each cabin has 9 bunk beds (18 beds), an electrical outlet, bunk light and window. Or tent camping available on the beach, BYO tent and camping gear.

🚿Facilities- Gender neutral restrooms are equipped with flushing toilets, sinks, and individual shower stalls. Porta potties also available.

💲Cost: Sliding scale $350-$1200. This cost includes all camp activities, 8 meals, accommodations, one snorkel tour, beginner surf lesson gear and instruction, as well as other programming. Payment plans available.
💸Scholarships- We have scholarships for QTBIPOC and trans folks with financial barriers. Scholarship information, timeline and application found here. Deadline to apply for a scholarship is June 9nd.

✖️Cancelation Policy: Cancel before July 15th for a full refund, minus $40 processing fee. Full refund only provided after July 15th if your spot is filled. If you cancel after July and your spot is not filled, a refund is not available.

🪸Other: Sorry, no pets or people under 18 allowed. This venue is a dry camp, no alcohol or drugs onsite. Please reach out if you have questions.

🦠Covid-19 Policy and Protocol: All participants must show proof of a negative covid test within 24 hours of camp starting. Screening will be done upon arrival at camp. Any participant who tests positive for COVID-19, or has symptoms consistent with COVID-19 infection cannot attend camp. Rapid tests will be available to participants throughout the weekend.
