QueerCalendarThis distinct walking tour begins at Lytle Park and covers roughly 1.8 miles over about 90 minutes, tracing Cincinnati’s queer history from the Civil War era through the modern LGBTQ+ liberation movement.
Led by historian and author of Cincinnati Before Stonewall: The Untold Queer History of the Queen City, Jacob Hogue, the tour visits eight landmark stops that illuminate queer life in the Queen City from the 19th century through the post-Stonewall era.
Along the way, participants will explore the hidden and often overlooked places where LGBTQ+ history unfolded. From elegant hotels once frequented by closeted elites to gritty alleys that pulsed with disco beats and rebellion, this tour brings to life the people, spaces, and stories that shaped Cincinnati’s queer community—places where individuals found sanctuary, solidarity, and sometimes sparked activism that helped transform the city.
