Front Runners & Walkers of North County

San Diego's North County group for Front Runners, the international group for gay and lesbian runners and walkers.

The North County group conducts a weekly walk/run in the seaside community of Carlsbad every Saturday morning at 9:00. We’d love to have you come and enjoy the great sun and surf and camaraderie of the group. You don’t have to be a member of Front Runners to join us – we welcome everyone.

Our Saturday get-togethers start at Magee Park (corner of Coast Highway and Beech Street). We meet in front of Heritage House on the south side of the park grounds. You’ll see us holding down the park bench just at the edge of the beautiful park grounds.

For those that like the sand and getting up close to the surfers and beach lovers some of us run and walk right on the beach. If you prefer a harder surface some of our group usually walks and runs on the great sidewalks and the beach walk just south of downtown Carlsbad.

The walkers usually go south from Magee Park down to the parking lot at the end of the beach walk. Runners often like to go on a little farther to the Power Plant or on to Tamarack Ave. The round-trip to the park is about 4 miles and to Tamarack is about 5 miles.

After our run/walk we meet for coffee and talk at the Elyse coffee house on Coast Highway in Carlsbad.

As part of the total Front Runners International organization and Front Runners and Walkers of San Diego we can take advantage of many activities that are sponsored by these organizations throughout the year.
