Con Mucho Amor: A Queer Quinceañera

If you are missing a family dynamic that no longer exists, or one that never existed. If you never had a Quinceañera or you never attended one. If you were the Chambelan but were destined to be the Quinceañera, if you endured wearing a Quinceañera dress but would’ve killed it in a suit.

If you watched your cousins and siblings experience this rite of passage and imagined yourself doing it, or if you were never interested in it because it didn’t feel like part of you.

This night is for you, for queer people, especially those of us with constant reminders that our existence can and will be constantly used as political strategy.
