What better way to spend Halloween than getting birdy, getting dirty, and giving back to our local wildlife habitats?!
Join FBC.PDX, Columbia Slough Watershed Council, and Portland Parks & Recreation for a special Halloween edition of Birdy & Dirty at Whitaker Ponds Nature Park!
We'll spend the half of our morning exploring the ponds, looking and listening for birds, and the other half getting our hands dirty removing invasive plants like ivy, blackberry, and thistle to help make room for native plants and support the wildlife that calls this place home.
Costumes are encouraged! 🧙 Just make sure you wear something you don't mind getting dirty!

🌱 What to know:
All birding experience levels are welcome!
Tools, gloves, and instructions will be provided.
Bring binoculars if you have them (extras available!).
Wear sturdy, waterproof shoes and dress for the weather.
Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided.
🏳️🌈 As always, FBC.PDX events center queer, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and other historically marginalized communities, and welcome our allies!
♿ Accessibility: This event involves walking and stewardship work on uneven ground with tall, thick grass. An ADA-compliant portable restroom will be available within walking distance.
